On August 19, 2016, Cerrell joined with the University of Southern California (USC) Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics and the National Women’s Political Caucus – Los Angeles Westside Chapter to  host the “Blazing the Trail: Lessons from Women Leaders” symposium.

The event brought together distinguished women in business, government, journalism, academia and philanthropy to hear about their journeys to become leaders in their respective fields. They emphasized the need for more women in politics and public service and stressed the importance of uplifting the next generation of women leaders.

The conference celebrated Cerrell’s 50th anniversary and the life and accomplishments of the firm’s late co-founder, Lee Cerrell. Accomplished dignitaries received the first-ever Lee Cerrell awards and were recognized for their extraordinary records of public service, leadership, civic engagement and mentorship. Honorees included:

  • Lee Cerrell Trailblazer Award – Yvonne Burke, Former Congresswoman & Los Angeles County Supervisor
  • Lee Cerrell Pathfinder Award – Lindsey Horvath, West Hollywood City Councilmember
  • Lee Cerrell Excellence in Civic Leadership Award – Tracy Hernandez, CEO of The Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed)

Cerrell thanks our valued guests, speakers and partners for contributing to what was an incredibly memorable and impactful event.
