With unemployment rates soaring, economic uncertainty is now a real concern for people and communities across the country and throughout the world. For people furloughed in industries like service and hospitality and for extremely vulnerable populations like low-income families with children and unhoused individuals, resources and support are critically needed.
There are many organizations and businesses accepting donations to aid those hit hardest by COVID-19. As proud Angelenos, we want to shine a light on three LA-based non-profits that Cerrell is supporting during this crisis. We encourage you to join us in making a donation to the following organizations showing tremendous leadership for those struggling most in our community:
California Community Foundation (CCF)
The California Community Foundation (CCF) launched the COVID-19 LA County Response Fund to address the immediate and emerging needs of our region’s most vulnerable residents—from hardship relief to long-term recovery. This fund will support community needs identified by CCF’s partners in health, housing, education and immigration.
The Mayor’s Fund
The Mayor’s Fund, a 501c3, has created the COVID-19 Crisis Fund to support critical needs in key priority areas, including families and small businesses, relief for healthcare workers, critical healthcare equipment and services for homeless individuals.
United Way of Greater Los Angeles
Funds raised for United Way of Greater Los Angeles Pandemic Relief Fund is helping to meet urgent needs such as food supplies, support to working families deeply affected, unsheltered residents who are especially vulnerable to the coronavirus, and low-income individuals, students and families at imminent risk of homelessness due to health and economic impacts of COVID-19.
In addition to making a charitable donation, we have another ask. You can make your dollar count by buying from local stores and businesses, who are hit hard by this crisis. Order delivery from local restaurants. Buy a gift certificate from your hairstylist. Order your pet food from an independent store. Choose a small business as often as you can.
Thank you for supporting small businesses and organizations making a difference in our community.
