John Anderson

Public Affairs ManagerAs a Public Affairs Manager, John specializes in bridging the gap between the familiar communication media and the new fast-paced digital communications. His experience in campaign strategy, message development, strategic planning, social media, outreach and digital content allows him to successfully develop and execute strategic communications programs for issues-based causes and political campaigns. His digital media work has been featured in regional and local papers and websites across Southern California.

John engages in thoughtful analysis and creative thinking that supports any public relations campaign. He specializes in developing strategic communications programs focusing on reaching diverse audiences through digital advertisements and materials, and manages social media content, tracking and analytics for clients.

On weekends, you can find John at the Rose Bowl or Pauley Pavilion cheering on his beloved Bruins. During the off season, he’s probably in his garage brewing beer.

Steve Bullock

Chief Financial OfficerAs Cerrell’s CFO and co-owner, Steve oversees the firm’s accounting, finance, legal, and government reporting activities. A veteran of the firm for more than 30 years, he’s worked with staff to maintain consistent revenue growth and strengthen the company’s operations and client services.

Steve’s understanding of the public affairs world comes from his extensive time as a financial manager and public affairs executive in the telecommunications and resource recovery industries. He advocated for various political and business-related projects, and was the business operations manager for one of the 100 largest cable television systems in the US.

Steve is a wine enthusiast who has explored many of the great wine regions of the world.

Kathryn Burke

Senior Account ExecutiveAt Cerrell, Kathryn works on issues management and ballot measure campaigns. She develops and implements advocacy, outreach and media relations strategies for the firm’s private, public sector and nonprofit clients.

Kathryn began her career as a Teach for America corps member, teaching 5th grade in rural Louisiana. She was also a fellow at the Louisiana Department of Education and most recently worked in public affairs at SKDKnickerbocker.

She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her Master in Public Policy from the University of Southern California. Her favorite activities include exploring new cities, reading on the beach and working to get more women elected.

Jordan Burns

Senior Account Executive As a Senior Account Executive, Jordan provides senior leadership to Cerrell’s clients, developing communications strategies, managing crises, coordinating stakeholder engagement and securing media coverage. Jordan’s experience merges the intersection of communications strategy and public policy.

Prior to joining Cerrell, Jordan spent over two years working in the communications office of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, where she led communications strategy and media relations on a variety of policy areas.

Jordan is a graduate from the University of Texas at Austin where she received a B.S. in public relations and a B.A. in Spanish. After graduating from UT Austin, Jordan worked at Grant Thornton LLP, where she worked as an advisory associate. She previously interned at The Texas Tribune for two years, in their marketing and development department.

In her free time, Jordan can be found spending time with her friends and family, running by the beach, playing tennis, and making her way through L.A.’s best burger list (again).

Anthony Chica

Public Affairs Director Anthony drives government engagement efforts for clients on a diverse set of issues at the city, county and state levels. This includes directing project teams on identifying key stakeholders, how to engage them and outlining how strategic involvement in key issues, events and organizations can enhance their business objectives by building important relationships.

He also manages complex political and public education campaigns by building successful and effective coalitions from the ground up, and mobilizing members to influence policy and electoral outcomes at every level.

A veteran public affairs specialist, Anthony brings a unique background in public policy, legislative affairs, communications, outreach and advocacy practices to Cerrell.

Anthony enjoys staying active, globetrotting, and taking in the SoCal sunshine and coastline.

Tori Chica

Vice PresidentTori runs Cerrell’s political, public education and issues management campaigns, specializing in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement and media relations for private and public-sector clients. With more than a decade of political campaign and public policy experience, Tori continues to play a game-changing role on local and statewide campaigns.

Tori was lead manager of the Strategic Research Department for President Barack Obama’s successful reelection campaign in 2012, having served in a similar capacity on the President’s 2008 campaign, and on high-profile U.S. Senate reelection campaigns.

Tori enjoys running, reading, walking her dog and enjoying the California sunshine. She’s also seen every episode of Friends and Seinfeld.

Trevor Daley

President As President, Trevor brings extensive experience in business, government, and nonprofit spheres to his work at Cerrell. His background managing and building teams of public affairs and communications professionals enhances Cerrell’s work with diverse clientele across industries.

Trevor is the former Chief of External Relations of Los Angeles World Airports where he oversaw government and media relations teams, in addition to all community relations activities at one of the world’s most visited airports.

Trevor spent nearly two decades working for United States Senator Dianne Feinstein where he served as a key strategist and State Director.

Trevor is active with local non-profit social service organizations, including Equality California, Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, Human Rights Campaign, A Community of Friends, Women Against Gun Violence, The Trevor Project and Project Angel Food. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of San Francisco.

Trevor has lived in Los Angeles for more than 20 years and is a native of Arcata, California. An avid traveler, when not in the office, you can find Trevor at the airport catching a last-minute flight to explore a new or favorite city.

Hal Dash

Chairman & Chief Executive OfficerFor over 40 years, Hal has guided the growth and direction of Cerrell. He consults with corporate and political clients on public affairs, government relations, media strategy, crisis and reputation management, legislation and political campaigns.

As Chairman & CEO, Hal advocates for Cerrell’s clients before local city councils, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and various regulatory agencies, with his specialty being the energy, water, infrastructure and transportation sectors.

Sofia de la Vega

Account Executive As an Account Executive, Sofia focuses on how to elevate the firm’s clients in the age of new media. By combining her experience in media relations, social media, branding, content creation, and stakeholder engagement, she develops innovative and creative strategies that secure media coverage and deliver positive results for the firm’s public, private, and non-profit clients.

In conjunction with her public relations work, Sofia handles creative development at Cerrell, designing materials for public education programs, philanthropic events, social media, and marketing campaigns.

Before joining the Cerrell team, Sofia spent four years supporting news operations at CBS Los Angeles. In her free time, Sofia serves as the Director of Media for the L.A. chapter of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership organization and donates her time as a video editor for a web series initiative that elevates women’s voices in sports analysis.

When she’s not working or volunteering, you can find Sofia out in nature with her dog Nico or on the lookout for her next favorite boba shop.

Anna Jimenez

Administrative AssistantAnna has been part of the Cerrell family for 20 years. The first voice that everyone hears when they call our office, she provides administrative support with a focus on accounting and event coordination.

Anna came to Cerrell with over a decade of experience working for the public sector. In her time with the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office and California Children Services, she gained valuable customer service and database management experience that she continues to use to this day.

Anna and her husband are members of her local church outreach program and love to watch NFL games on her time off.

Noam Leead

Account ExecutiveAs an Account Executive with Cerrell, Noam supports the firm’s Public Relations & Crisis Communications team as well as other practice areas. She focuses on message development, media relations, crisis communications, issues management, and stakeholder engagement throughout California. With experience in nonprofit and political sectors, Noam adds diverse communications strategy insight.

Prior to joining Cerrell, Noam spent time in the Speaker’s Communication Office at the California State Capitol where she worked closely on media relations between the press and public. She provided the office with both policy analysis and content creation suited to influence public opinion. She also worked on local and state level campaigns for political candidates.

Noam likes to lead a healthy, active lifestyle, spend time with family & friends, and see as much live music as possible. She’s also watched every episode of Chef’s Table (while resisting the urge to raid her pantry).

Jim Lott

Strategic Counsel Jim Lott is an accomplished Senior Executive, Board Member, and Thought Leader with more than 35 years of success in the healthcare industry. Leveraging extensive experience with crisis communications, government, and public relations, Jim is a valuable asset for companies seeking guidance on media and stakeholder communications management.

His broad areas of expertise include healthcare policy development, strategic planning, marketing, collaboration, government advocacy programs, executive, and management coaching.

Currently, Jim serves as Lecturer at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, Department of Preventive Medicine, Los Angeles, teaching public health leadership courses.

Megan Kay

Senior Account Executive In her role as Senior Account Executive, Megan provides senior leadership to Cerrell’s Public Relations and Crisis Communications Team. She focuses on developing communications strategies, managing crises, and coordinating stakeholder engagement for the firm’s clients. Megan brings to the team a diverse array of experiences in politics, campaigns, and research on a national scale.

Prior to joining Cerrell, Megan spent over three years as an opposition researcher, working to get Democrats elected up and down the ticket in some of the most competitive races across the country. After graduating from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in International Relations, Megan served as a field organizer on the Hillary Clinton 2016 presidential campaign, in critical states such as New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. She previously interned with the Massachusetts National Organization for Women and was a foreign policy intern in the Obama White House’s Office of Presidential Correspondence.

Megan is a podcast aficionado and an avid reader. She loves catching shows at The Comedy Store and the Hollywood Bowl, trying out new sushi restaurants, and spending time at home with her beloved cat, Clementine.

Marc Mitchell

Vice President Marc brings over two decades of government relations and political experience to Cerrell’s government relations focus area. He leads a team of government and community affairs experts to serve clients seeking to emphasize sound regional policy & strategic work with elected officials, their staffs & their communities at the federal, state, county and city levels, as well as engaging public agencies throughout Southern California.

Marc’s local government advocacy practice continues their focus on infrastructure, transportation, energy and health care.

Marc currently serves on the South Bay YMCA Board. He and his wife have volunteered for nearly a decade at the 1736 Crisis Center; responding to the growing needs of domestic violence victims. Marc is the past chairman of the Redondo Beach Planning Commission, serving two full terms (8 years) and previously three years as a city public works commissioner.

While playing one season in the Danish American Football Federation, Marc received the International Economics Certificate from Aalborg University. He received a bachelor’s degree in management from the internationally renowned University of Northern Iowa School of Business.

Amy Rosenfeld

Vice President As Vice President of Public Relations & Crisis Communications team, Amy drives clients’ communications strategy and is a crisis fixer. A skilled storyteller, she develops creative communications campaigns, crafts messages that resonate with diverse audiences, and secures media coverage in top-tier media outlets.

With more than 15 years of experience, Amy has dedicated her career to elevating the work and furthering the impact of leading non-profit organizations. She previously served as Director of Communications and Marketing for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles. Prior to Planned Parenthood, Amy led communications for Chrysalis – an LA-based homeless services organization and social enterprise. Amy began her career working at AIPAC – the American Israel Public Affairs Committee – where she developed skills in fundraising and political advocacy.

On the weekends, Amy enjoys hiking in Griffith Park with her husband and toddler, shopping at the Atwater Village Farmer’s Market, and taking a Zumba class.

Joe Soltas

Finance Manager As Cerrell’s Finance Manager, Joe manages the daily operations of the accounting department. His responsibilities include accounts receivable, accounts payable, contract management, revenue forecasting, cash account reconciliations, and budgeting for Cerrell and our clients. Joe also focuses on expanding the firm’s client base and conducts outreach programs for some of our more complex land use and transportation clients.

Joe gained valuable finance experience through his previous work in the mortgage industry. He worked as a Loan Officer Assistant for a national producer consistently ranked in the top 10 originators nationwide based on loan volume, and also working in the compliance department.

In his free time, Joe enjoys exercising, live music, and appreciates the many great restaurants that Los Angeles has to offer.

Brandon Stephenson

Chief Strategic OfficerFor more than a decade, Brandon has run successful political, alliance development and public education campaigns. Working across the firm’s diverse specialty areas, he works to develop Cerrell’s strategic vision to ensure the firm’s continued growth.

Brandon’s expertise is in developing winning strategic communications plans and mobilizing stakeholders to influence decision-makers and the media at the local, state and federal levels. A campaign veteran, he has managed several statewide programs for Cerrell and other firms, including a statewide healthcare advocacy and communications network and several ballot measures.

After quitting smoking, Brandon loves running 5K’s and hiking with his friends, and spending as much time as possible with his family.
